Dietitians Debunk The Detox

Now that summer is over and New Year resolutions of eating well have fallen away, Australia’s leading nutrition body is warning against quick-fix diets.

According to a Newspoll survey commissioned by the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), almost half of Australian adults (46 per cent) tried to lose weight in the 12 months to November last year. But only one in five thought they had been ‘very successful’.

The Ancient Chinese Emperor Huang Ti and the Indian Ayurevedic traditions also document the use of nutrition as part of the path to good health some 2500 ago. It was also discussed among the great Greek and Roman philosophers.

2008 Macau Half Marathon Completed

Yesterday morning our dietitian Vivien finished the half Marathon in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

She says, "I have to admit that it wasn't easy for me, but I did try my very best, and I am proud of myself for finishing the whole run. I ran the first 11km without any difficulty; however I felt that I was hitting the wall at 15km...It became a mental and a physical war for me at the same time...the rest was a mix of slow jog and brisk walk..."

The 2008 Marathon In Macau is Coming

We are participating in the 2008 Macau International Marathon, Half Marathon & Mini Marathon Diabetes Hongkong Charity Running Programme. Our dietitian Vivien, says "I am so proud to run the half marathon. My longest running distance so far is 10km, so this is going to be a new challenge for me."
